CHAPTER 3:THERMOCHEMISTRY

3.1 HEAT CHANGE IN REACTIONS

Exothermic and Endothermic Reactions

Have you ever fried an egg? While frying eggs, heat from the pan is absorbed and causes the egg in liquid form to turn solid. Is the change in the egg caused by an exothermic or endothermic reaction?

  •

There is a change in energy when a chemical reaction occurs and usually involves heat energy. Heat energy is either released or absorbed during a chemical reaction.
